Biography Uploaded

A new audio file has been added to my web site which serves as a new biography. It was made in answer to some questions from an English university student who wanted to know how I made the transition from my early days as a photojournalist to my current style of work.

Silvershotz Front Cover

Clive Waring-Flood, editor of Silvershotz, the International Journal of Fine Art photography, has selected my image 'Under construction' for the front cover of Volume 4 Edition which will go on sale on September 1st of this year price US$13.99.

Inside there will also be a ten-page article which will include a substantial folio and a review of 'The Philosophers Tomb' a 30 minute DVD produced to act as an introduction to my work. A short clip from Brooks Jensen's (editor of LensWork publishing) introduction can be seen on my 'myartspace' site. Click on the 'clapperboard' logo in the top right hand corner of the image display area to start the movie rolling.

PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PARIS

The Language of Representation

Whilst surfing around the net today I came across an article by Alex Nodopaka titled 'Dominic Rouse and the language of representation'. You can read it here
I discovered things about my work that I did not know which is always useful. One thing an artist has no control over is the reaction of the viewer ("you bring your baggage to my work and I'll bring mine.")
Further wanderings revealed another site called 'Mannequin Envy' where aspiring poets have written pieces inspired by my images. 'Dominic Rouse: Inspired Poetry' can be found here
